Glasgow City Council’s Executive Committee have approved plans for the extension of the Broomielaw Pavilions development on the waterfront of the Clydeside. The pavilions are seen to be a key component of the Tradeston - Broomielaw Bridge and Public realm proposals, currently in progress on the waterfront. It is considered that the proposal will further enhance and improve the Riverside environment and maintain the regeneration of the River Clyde. An earlier report commissioned by the Council had identified the need for a foodservice space as a starting point that would provide the critical mass to deliver a “destinational venue” in the area. It was also considered that Foodservice uses would be fundamental to maximising and blending the other core uses within the regeneration area of the International Financial Services District, Tradeston and Broomielaw.
