3DReid, the recent merger of leading architectural practices REID architecture and 3D Architects, have picked up their first accolades since the announcement. The Business Incubation Centre on the Alba Campus, Livingston and the Operation Building at Farnborough Airport were both successful at the inaugural Commercial Architecture Awards. Of the Incubation Centre, the judges said: “An interesting and innovative approach to creating new office accommodation. The transfer of knowledge from other sectors has been used intelligently to create a simple, robust solution that is well-suited to the brief. That such an elegant, well-detailed building can be created for £65/ sq ft is a credit to the team and this could surely be a model that could be used elsewhere to provide accommodation with such good sustainability credentials.”
