Architecture & Design Scotland has told BDP to ditch an “iconic building” planned as part of its scheme to extend a Glasgow shopping centre. The watchdog’s design review panel added that BDP had not taken on board many concerns raised in a previous design review of the scheme, which aims to integrate the Buchanan Galleries, concert hall and the city centre. A&DS also criticised the proposed atrium building for “privatising” the public space around the Royal Concert Hall steps and “dominating” views from Buchanan and Sauciehall Streets.
