Medius Building to transform Pacific Quay, Glasgow

Glasgow's new Digital Media Quarter is set to be transformed with the creation of Medius, a state-of-the-art new media development at Pacific Quay, designed by Cooper Cromar. Medius, 2,863sqm (30,818 sq ft) of dynamic, flexible office space in Glasgow's new Digital Media Quarter, is one of the flagship buildings at Pacific Quay and has been created as part of the Clyde Waterfront regeneration initiative.

Anticipated for completion by the end of the year, it will be a tremendous boost to Scotland's digital media industries providing a new generation of waterfront office accommodation. The development combines distinctive architectural design with high quality specification, helping to transform this waterfront site into the Clydeside's most flexible media space.

Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, in the enterprise agency's key coordinating role for the Clydeside redevelopment, is targeting the Pacific Quay site to digital media content developers and providers; broadcasters and publishers; communication technologies companies; research and development institutions; and games companies.

Pacific Quay is a 60 acre site on the south bank of the River Clyde, directly opposite the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. As part of the Clyde Waterfront regeneration initiative, Pacific Quay is being promoted as Glasgow's “Digital Media Quarter” and will feature a diverse range of uses including business, leisure and tourism, cultural and residential, and will cost around £500 million to fully develop.

The Quay is already home to Glasgow Science Centre, which features an IMAX cinema and the city's innovative Glasgow Tower, XFM Scotland, Film City Glasgow and SMG, owners of Scottish TV. The BBC is now moving into its Scottish headquarters adjacent to the Science Centre.
