The man in charge of promoting Edinburgh's city centre has voiced doubts over the future of the long-awaited overhaul of Princes Street. Glass-covered walkways and underground access tunnels are among the schemes put forward in recent years, but so far none have come to fruition. City leaders are drawing up a new blueprint for the flagship shopping street after the project was taken out of the hands of Edinburgh City Centre Management (ECCM) last month. Frustration with the pace of progress was understood to be the reason behind the move.
