Mobile gallery takes to the streets in new vehicle

Edinburgh Evening News

A mobile art gallery run by Edinburgh council which has toured the country for 25 years will take to the road in a brand new vehicle this week. The custom built Travelling Gallery bus will hit the streets on Thursday before touring round the Capital with its latest exhibits. Funded by the £173,500 grant from Scottish Arts Council, the new bus' interior was designed by Edinburgh architects Sutherland Hussey. The exterior artwork is by Scottish artist Mandy McIntosh and the new vehicle also boasts increased floorspace, improved access facilities, CCTV and a hearing loop. The theme for this year's display - Build It and They Will Come - is work by artists whose exhibits are inspired by architecture and built environment.
