Castlemore reveals plans for £120m Glasgow office block

The Scotsman

Castlemore, the developer behind the Waverley Gate project in Edinburgh, has unveiled plans for a major new office block in Glasgow, which is being billed as one of the largest speculative city centre developments outside central London. While most details of "project 301" at 301 St Vincent Street are being withheld ahead of meetings with Glasgow planning authorities, West Midlands-based Castlemore said its plans were to create a building offering 250,000sq ft of grade A office space. Waverley Gate, the former Post Office building at the east end of Princes Street, provides 217,000sq ft. Acquisition of the 1.3 acre site, currently a car park used by Abbey National and owned by Mapeley, is believed to have cost more than £5 million. The total project is understood to be budgeted at around £120m.
