Granite buildings to get facelift

The Press and Journal

Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been made available to repair old granite buildings in Aberdeen. Aberdeen City Heritage Trust is aiming to commit £300,000 to specific repair and reinstatement schemes by the end of this financial year. The trust allocates money for restoration projects in two forms - comprehensive grants up to about £100,000 to help cover large-scale schemes, and small grants of up to £20,000 to help owners pay for individual repairs or the reinstatement of architectural features. Both types of grant are still on offer, but the trust is especially keen to encourage applications for the larger grants.
