The group which owns RMJM, the architecture firm behind the controversial £600m Gazprom tower in St Petersburg, plans to double in size by acquiring civil engineering firms around the world. MJM, part-owned by the family of construction tycoon Sir Fraser Morrison, plans to buy or merge with engineers to work with subsidiary RMJM's 680-strong team of architects. Peter Morrison, group chief executive and son of Sir Fraser, said: "We want to see branded engineering companies alongside RMJM offering similar quality and level of service. We are often asked to recommend engineers. This is about finding the right businesses to fit in with the group." The company already owns a small engineering business in Edinburgh.
