Storytelling Centre pencilled in for architecture prize
A new visitor attraction on the Royal Mile is in the running to be named best new building in Scotland tonight. The Scottish Storytelling Centre, which was created on the site of the old Netherbow Theatre, is one of ten projects shortlisted for the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland prize. Edinburgh architect Malcolm Fraser designed the £3.5 million scheme, which opened in June, and features a 99-seat theatre, arts cafe, gallery and exhibition space, and education rooms.
