RMJM's Moscow office to lead Gazprom HQ bid

The Scotsman

RMJM, the Edinburgh-based international architecture firm, is to open a Moscow office in December as it attempts to cash in on its experience in the thriving market. The company is working on about 20 projects in Russia, mainly in the conceptual stages, including winning a place on the shortlist to design the new headquarters for Gazprom, the world's largest gas company, in St Petersburg. Tony Kettle, the firm's UK managing director, will today leave Edinburgh to lead a team in St Petersburg for an initial briefing meeting on Gazprom's aspirations for the project. Described as one of the most ambitious projects in modern Russia, the new buildings will include a 300-metre tower on a 4.34 hectare site on the banks of the River Nera in the heart of the historic city.
