Bennetts Associates to exhibit at the Edinburgh College of Art

Following the success of the exhibition held last year at the RIBA, Bennetts Associates is holding a second exhibition at the Edinburgh College of Art, a stone's throw from the firm's Edinburgh office on the edge of The Meadows. The exhibition will run from 5th – 21st October.

The exhibition named 10 Projects: Bennetts Associates will be presented in the grand Neo Classical Sculpture Court which was designed exclusively for the appreciation of art, architecture and the ornament. The exhibition traces the evolution of the practice by examining 10 prominent projects and how they connect with the rest of the firm's work past and present.

Two new projects have been added since the RIBA show: The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, presented to the public in June, and a previously unpublished scheme, City Inn Amsterdam.

Well known completed buildings, such as Hampstead Theatre, Wessex Water Operations Centre and Brighton Central Library are displayed alongside two projects now on site, the Potterrow Development for the University of Edinburgh and New Street Square, a substantial new office development for Land Securities that is changing the skyline in the City of London.

The exhibition traces the origins of recurring themes - the use of space and circulation, the integral role of engineering and construction, the analytical nature of the design process - to show how a consistent rigour is applied across an exceptionally wide range of building-types with presence and sensitivity.
