Architect chosen for cultural centre

East Lothian Courier

The company which will create a multi-million pound cultural hub in the heart of Haddington was named this week. Edinburgh-based architects Gray, Marshall and Associates have been chosen to design the £6 million project in the town's Lodge Street. A council steering group, following consultation with the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, chose the winning design from a short list of six. The architects have significant experience in converting historic buildings into archive and library facilities. Past projects have included the National Archive of Scotland and the Scottish Borders Council's heritage centre in Hawick. They are currently involved with the Townscape Heritage Initiative project in Dunbar which is regenerating the town centre.
