Architect returns to become head of former school

This is North Scotland

An Architecture graduate has become the head of the school where he learned his craft. The Robert Gordon University (RGU) has appointed former student David McClean as the head of The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment. Mr McClean has been acting head since 2004. He studied architecture at the school, then known as The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology before moving to Cambridge, to work for two architect firms. Returning to RGU in 1992, he established the Interior Design specialism of the BA (Hons) Design and Craft course, before leading the development of a new flagship Honours degree in Interior Architecture, the first of its kind to be validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
