Medal win for design by student

This is North Scotland

An Aberdeen student has won a prestigious architectural award. Aisling Shannon, a student at The Robert Gordon University, picked up the Civic Medal from Lord Provost John Reynolds at the Town House. Students study a number of sites across the city and design housing schemes to be judged in the contest. Aisling's plans were for the corner of Justice Mill Lane and the Hardgate. Her tutor Alastair Methven said: "Aisling's plan skilfully reflected the urban qualities of Justice Mill Lane and took full advantage of the slope towards the south." Aisling, from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is a student at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture.
