Edinburgh students up the shanty

Edinburgh Evening News

Teams of Edinburgh architecture students plan to spend a night sleeping in shelters made from cardboard and tarpaulin. The city branch of Architecture Sans Frontières is hosting an event tomorrow, designed to highlight the problems faced by people living in shanty homes. Two teams made up of students from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh College of Art and Strathclyde University plan to design and build shanties in George Square from discarded materials such as pallets, cardboard boxes and tarpaulin - and then test their homes by sleeping in them.
