Crisis talks have begun following the collapse of a roof on a £70m leisure complex, just weeks before opening. There are fears the dramatic incident could delay the opening of the Xscape centre at Braehead on April 6, with a giant party planned for 10,000 people. The ceiling caved in at one of the Odeon cinemas in a 12-screen multiplex, being built at a cost of £5m. It's believed the cinema has seating for 500 people. No-one was injured in the ceiling collapse. The construction firm behind the building is Laing O'Rourke. Safety inspectors have been called into the Xscape centre and construction staff won't be able to start work again until the site is declared safe.
