Vision for town's future unveiled

A vision of the future development of Dumfries town centre is to go on display to the public. The urban design strategy was commissioned by Dumfries and Galloway Council and drawn up by Gillespies plc. It outlines ways in which the number of people living in the town centre and the number of businesses operating there can be increased. The council is also looking for ideas from the public for future use of Dock Park and Midsteeple in the town. Responding to concern about the decline of the town centre, the council last year published a 10-year strategy and action plan.
