Is this Scotland's carbuncle capital?

The Herald

It was once a favourite Doon the Watter resort. But today a search for the tourist draw – the sea-front row of cafes, restaurants, the kind of shops where one might buy a beach-ball, bucket and spade – is doomed to failure. It should be Princes Street, but it doesn't have much in common with its namesake in Helensburgh, far less Edinburgh. The few surviving shops are down-at heel, and it is separated from the shore by the harbour area, a collection of eyesores, some still in business, others awaiting demolition.
