Holyrood architect forced to leave his firm

The Scotsman

Brian Stewart, the Scottish architect who masterminded the controversial Holyrood parliament building, has been forced out of RMJM, his architectural firm, after a clash with directors, it emerged last night. Six other senior staff members have also left in Mr Stewart's wake, leaving the leading Edinburgh firm in crisis. Many within RMJM have blamed the situation on the fallout from the parliament building project, which stretched the firm and those most closely involved to breaking point. Mr Stewart had been on indefinite leave for some time and it had been thought that he would leave the firm voluntarily, reaching an amicable agreement with fellow partners and managers.
