A blueprint outlining new ways to preserve and enhance Edinburgh's World Heritage Site is set to be unveiled. The new "Management Plan" looks at ways of developing significant areas in the Old and New towns while conserving the historic environment. The Edinburgh World Heritage Trust said the city posed a unique challenge due to the fact that it was a large urban centre and a capital city. It hoped to strike the right balance between conservation and development. The designation of World Heritage Site was granted by Unesco a decade ago.
