Scotland's tallest skyscraper and Venice-style apartment blocks were unveiled yesterday as part of dramatic plans for Edinburgh's new waterfront. Major landmarks to emulate the Black Diamond in Copenhagen and Prague's "Fred and Ginger" office block are part of the proposed radical transformation of Leith Docks. Developers masterminding a £2 billion overhaul of the port over the next 20 years want cutting-edge architecture in the area where 18,000 homes are set to be created. The new details come just months after the city council approved a blueprint for the area. Edinburgh architectural practice RMJM, which picked up awards for its work on the new Scottish Parliament building, is behind the masterplan.
