Edge of town. A busy road runs past a big hospital. There is a huge Tesco superstore on the other side of the roundabout. You could be anywhere in the UK. Except for two things: the indicators on the local buses sport the evocative name of Culloden, the battle that ended the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion; and some intriguing green spiral shapes have sprouted between the road and the hospital.
