A new champion has been appointed to drive forward a 20-year masterplan aimed at breathing new life into some of Glasgow's most deprived areas. The Clyde Gateway project aims to bring 21,000 jobs and 10,000 new homes to areas such as Bridgeton, Dalmarnock and Parkhead by 2025. Councillor George Redmond will head a new steering group which will aim to attract more than £1.6billion of private investment to the east end. More than 2000 acres of land, between Parkhead Cross, Bridgeton and Farme Cross, will be transformed as part of the massive regeneration project.
