From £431m Scottish Parliament to school for the poor in Nepal

Edinburgh Evening News

The widow of Holyrood architect Enric Miralles is building a low-budget school for poor children in Nepal as an "antidote" to her experience with the Scottish Parliament. Benedetta Tagliabue said the school in one of the poorest areas of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu would probably cost the equivalent of two doors at the £431 million parliament building. The project involves building a new centre next to the existing Catalunya School in Kathmandu, run by the EduQual Foundation, which was established by Catalan teacher Vicki Sherpa.
