Derelict Clyde Rotunda put up for sale

Evening Times

It has been one of Glasgow's best-known landmarks since the 1800s. Now, almost 20 years after it closed, the South Rotunda on the banks of the Clyde is being primed for a new lease of life. The B-listed property is up for sale. And, with it now being surrounded by £150million of regeneration along Pacific Quay, developers reckon there will be no shortage of bidders willing topay around £750,000 for it. The domed structure was once the entrance to the tunnels which linked Finnieston Quay and Mavisbank Quay on either side of the river. The tunnels were shut to pedestrians in 1980 and finally closed in 1987.
