These stunning new images are the latest to show how the site of the old Edinburgh Royal Infirmary will be transformed. They were unveiled today to coincide with a major new marketing drive. Early work on the Quartermile development, which will feature hundreds of new homes, as well as shops, restaurants, leisure facilities, a five-star hotel and offices, is already under way. And Southside Capital, the joint-venture company spearheading the project, has now prepared a series of artists' impressions for a marketing drive aimed at raising awareness of the scheme and attracting buyers. The images show some of the site's 18th and 19th-century listed buildings rubbing shoulders with ultra-modern architecture in glass and steel. Developers hope the new office building at Number One Quartermile Square will revitalise Lauriston Place.
