Design chief calls for city centre revamp

Evening Times

The head of Scotland's new design body today urged developers to make Glasgow city centre more attractive to foreign visitors. Sebastian Tombs, 55, chief executive of Architecture and Design Scotland, called on planners and architects to work together to transform parts of the city. Mr Tombs wants other areas of Glasgow to match the quality of shopping precincts like Buchanan Street. "Buchanan Street has been completely transformed over the past 10 to 15 years," he said.
