Two young designers have become the first architects trained in Scotland to be shortlisted for the world's premier award for graduates. Liam Ross, who studied at the University of Edinburgh, and Katharina Rohde, who attended Strathclyde in Glasgow, are front-runners for the Archiprix International 2005. The biennial competition showcases the best of 200 universities in 67 countries bringing international recognition at the start of designers' careers. Mr Ross and Ms Rohde are among the top 18 projects chosen by international judges. It is a double first because the final of the competition is to be held in Glasgow in June, its first time in Scotland.
