Success shines on Lighthouse centre with £1m bonus

The Scotsman

The success of The Lighthouse, Scotland's national architecture and design centre, was rewarded yesterday with a £1 million bonus from the Scottish Executive. The money will fund an extension of the National Programme for Architecture until 2008 as part of the Executive's "impressive" policy on architecture. The Lighthouse, in Glasgow, was tasked in 2002 with delivering on a range of issues set out in the policy. It has been such a success that Scotland is "punching above its weight", according to experts.
