Top architects pencilled in for city awards night

Edinburgh Evening News

Some of the world's leading architects are to converge on the Capital later this year for the awarding of the UK's most prestigious architecture prize. Millennium Dome creator Lord Rogers, and Lord Foster, whose firm created London's famous "gherkin" building, are among those to be invited to the Stirling Prize awards ceremony at the Royal Museum. The event, which will be broadcast live on Channel 4 to an estimated audience of 1.3 million, will showcase some of the best new buildings in Europe. The new £431 million Scottish Parliament at Holyrood is expected to be among the contenders for the £20,000 grand prize.
