A £100M development is expected to be approved today to build Scotland's tallest building. Glasgow City Council is likely to grant planning permission for a landmark 440ft building in St Vincent Street which would replace the former Strathclyde Regional Council offices. The 39-storey building would become the highest in Scotland, as developers of a 35 to 40-storey glass residential and hotel complex on the Leith waterfront, Edinburgh, have yet to apply for planning approval. The residential, office, leisure and retail development would include 202 luxury homes, 223,851sq metres of office and shopping space, and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, on a 1.4-acre site near the M8.
