Renowned Edinburgh architect Malcolm Fraser has been appointed to a new organisation to champion the built environment. Architecture and Design Scotland is being established by the Scottish Executive as the national champion for good architecture and design. The chair is Raymond Young OBE, an architect and a former senior member of staff of Scottish Homes. Mr Fraser, who is a visiting Professor in Architecture at the University of the West of England in Bristol, has been appointed a deputy chair.
