Rural Home wins award for Deeside Architect

A Deeside architect has been commended at a national award ceremony, for his work on a property in Aberdeenshire. Aboyne-based Michael Rasmussen Associates picked up the recognition for Barehillock steading in Tarland at the Saltire Society housing design awards. The firm was up against 50 entries from across Scotland, with four overall winners and four commendations given at the event. It was the only finalist from the north-east at the ceremony in Glasgow's Lighthouse Centre.Barehillock is a modern steading conversion which retained the character of an original farm building. It was commissioned by Rona and Keith Mitchell and built by George MacDonald of Logie Coldstone.
