The children of Enric Miralles will see the results of their late father's labours at Holyrood for the first time next month, Benedetta Tagliabue, their mother, said yesterday. The widow of the Catalan architect said she was waiting until the royal opening of the new Scottish Parliament to show it to Caterina, nine, and Domenec, seven, as part of a "family entourage". Ms Tagliabue, who was visiting Holyrood for the first time since MSPs moved in, and spent time listening to the debate on the Fraser report, defended her and her husband's role in the project, saying others should have been watching the costs. The glamorous Italian-born architect, who continues to run the EMBT practice she and Miralles founded in Barcelona, also said people had underestimated the timing and price for such a building.
