The Richard Murphy-designed Sean Connery Film Centre proposed for Edinburgh sparked a storm of protest this week for being in the wrong location. Designs for the cylindrical four-storey Filmhouse, planned for Festival Square, will be shown at this week's Venice Biennale. However, the leader of the City of Edinburgh Council, Donald Anderson, has been joined by conservation trust the Cockburn Association, in criticising the choice of site. Anderson told BD he knew nothing of the proposals until they were publicly announced last week.
