After five years in which they spent £431 million of taxpayers' money and saw an official inquiry into the eye-watering overspend, MSPs should perhaps have known what to expect yesterday when, finally, they moved into their offices at Holyrood. But as members of the Green Party, the Scottish Socialists, the SNP and the Tories were left with only their packing crates for company it did not take long for them to complain. Last night, parliamentary officials confessed they were unsure what more the petulant MSPs had expected.
