When it comes to the Scottish Parliament, John Kinsley likes to use a footballing analogy. After six years at the eye of the Holyrood storm, RMJM's project architect likes to see the 1,200-strong team (or thereabouts) which has been working on the building as the Manchester United of the construction world. "It's the Alex Ferguson mentality," the 40-year-old Lancastrian explains. "Nobody likes us; we don't care." The on-site architects and construction staff have had to weather a torrent of bad publicity throughout the build, much to their chagrin. And that's made the project much more difficult.
