A church in Glasgow's west end, designed by one of the city's most important architects, is being sold off for flats. The development - expected to top £750,000 - has been given the go-ahead despite the building's listed status and has sparked fears over the fate of unusual design features inside the church. The former Broomhill Trinity Reform Church, on the corner of Victoria Park Gardens South and Balshagray Avenue, is being offered for sale at offers over £650,000. Planning consent has been given to split the building into six flats. The church was built in 1907 and was designed by Scottish architect John James Burnet, who was also responsible for the Glasgow University Union and the Athenaeum building near Buchanan Street Subway station.
