Best of new buildings to be honoured

The owners or architects of new buildings in the Lothians have been invited to enter one of the UK's leading design contests. The Civic Trust Awards hail top architecture, planning, environmental design, landscape, public art and urban design. Vivienne Newlands, Civic Trust Awards manager, said: "Architecture for architecture's sake won't win a Civic Trust Award. Good design isn't enough. Judges also look at the benefit each project brings to its local area and community.
