Prestigious contracts are nothing new to a young firm of Glasgow architects, but according to its managing director, designing a gallery at London's Victoria and Albert museum has been one of its most daunting projects. Against fierce competition, Gareth Hoskins Architects, established only six years ago, has won the contract for what is claimed will be the UK's first permanent gallery devoted to architecture. The company came out top in a nationwide competition that attracted 270 entries. Work is well under way and the gallery is due to open in November.
