Farrell in Edinburgh conflict of interest row

Building Design

A City of Edinburgh Council company is set to hire Terry Farrell for a £60 million project, triggering concern over the architect's role as design adviser to the authority. Farrell and developer Cala-Morrison have been selected as preferred bidders for the planned £60 million expansion of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) by the board of the EICC, beating five other architects in the process, including Michael Laird Architects, Comprehensive Design and Allan Murray Architects. The client is a limited company owned by Edinburgh council.
