Where have all the architect technicians gone? Where once a steady stream of young people burst forth from building college and straight into architecture practices, that stream has dwindled over the years to little more than a trickle. There has also been an increasing predisposition towards full-time education, with a marked preference among those students who choose to pursue a career as an architect technician to opt for an HND course rather than the HNC alternative, which is part-time, involving attendance at a building college one day per week, with students working the remainder of the week in an architect practice.
