Anger over sales office plans for old ERI site
Sales offices planned for the site of the old Edinburgh Royal Infirmary have sparked fierce protests from heritage watchdogs. Southside Capital, the consortium behind £400 million plans to create new flats, offices, restaurants and bars on the landmark site, wants to establish a temporary "marketing suite" on the site. But its plans to use an old gatehouse and temporary office to help sell flats and office space on the 19-acre Quartermile development have upset heritage groups.
