A leading Glasgow city architect has been poached to assist Edinburgh's new design tsar, Sir Terry Farrell. Riccardo Marini, a driving force behind the regeneration of Glasgow's Buchanan Street, has been confirmed as the capital's full-time design leader - carrying out the work pioneered by Sir Terry, who wants to improve Edinburgh's urban architecture and planning to world class. The move is the latest in a series aimed at raising the profile of urban design and preserving the capital's worldwide reputation for heritage architecture.
