Tacky-looking

The Scotsman

It seems, from the appearance of our £430 million Parliament building (your picture, 25 February), that the Catalonian architect, Enric Miralles, did indeed change his design after the work commenced. Instead of being inspired by upturned boats he spotted when on a visit to Holy Island, while he was under the impression he was in Scotland, he was obviously drawn to a theme linking our culture to that of his Spanish origins.
