Call to cut fees of Holyrood designers
The architects on the Holyrood project should have their fees cut for designing a banana-shaped chamber instead of a horseshoe, MSPs said today. The Fraser inquiry into the £401 million parliament fiasco has heard Catalan architect Enric Miralles ignored the original brief when he came up with an elongated chamber instead of the semi-circle that was requested. And the redesign to get back to the initial plan delayed the project by at least four months.
