The architects on the Holyrood project should have their fees cut for designing a banana-shaped chamber instead of a horseshoe, MSPs said today. The Fraser inquiry into the Ł401 million parliament fiasco has heard Catalan architect Enric Miralles ignored the original brief when he came up with an elongated chamber instead of the semi-circle that was requested. And the redesign to get back to the initial plan delayed the project by at least four months.
