Plan for mall shops rejected

Edinburgh Council officials have recommended that an application to extend the controversial Princes Mall shopping centre be turned down. The owners of the building had proposed to extend part of the rooftop plaza facing on to Princes Street for more shops. However, both local and national groups have lobbied vociferously against any addition to what they claim is an already unsightly development.
