An architectural Lion roars again
The wraps are finally coming off one of Glasgow's hidden architectural gems after the building was clad in scaffolding for close to a decade. The Lion Chambers in Hope Street is regarded internationally as the equal of other more famous Glasgow buildings such as the School of Art and Holmwood. However, the A-listed building, has been shrouded in its metal cage since March 1995, when lumps of concrete fell from the frontage on to the road below, causing Hope Street to be closed to traffic and pedestrians.
