One of Britain's most celebrated architects has outlined his ambition to transform the River Clyde and his plans to resurrect derelict urban areas of Glasgow blighted by decades of decay. Lord Richard Rogers, who has been credited with putting urban renaissance at the heart of projects in cities such as London and Barcelona, is charged with delivering a £40 million pedestrian bridge from Broomielaw to Tradeston, creating a centrepiece for almost £3 billion of development along the river. The new suspension bridge, dubbed Neptune's Way, after a boat moored alongside the Renfrew Ferry, will arc out across the river, in a continuous swoop linking north with south.
